This opening is named after the Chess World Champion Alexander Alekhine. The entire idea of this opening is to invite the white pawns in the centre for the black pieces to charge.

Benko Gambit

This opening is named after the Hungarian-American Chess Grandmaster of the 1970s. He also introduced the book 'Benko Gambit' in 1974

This opening is named after the Hebrew word 'ben-oni' which means Pawn sacrifice. It was found in the 1865 manuscript from Von Aaron Reinganum and is called 'The Pawn Sacrifice Defence' in most non-Hebrew speaking nations

Bogo Indian Defence

GM Efim Bogoljubow

Black fills the board with its pieces, then occupies white's pieces with its pawns. The name was given after the Grandmaster Efim Bogo-ljubow

Opening

The Budapest Defence is a tricky opening played by black. The opening earned its name after a Chess game was played and won by Géza Maróczy in the Hungarian capital.
